課程概述 |
*因應校方宣布台大新學期前三週改為遠距教學,本課程將以「前三週線上教學、第四週開始實體教學」為原則(若校方之後有發布新規定,會再斟酌處理)。
*由於本系之英文作文課程為小班教學的實作課程,且因第四週預計恢復實體上課,考量教室大小和課程品質,除非有選上同學退選,否則原則上不開放加簽,請同學們見諒。(仍欲登記順序等待加簽者,請另外寄信給我 yichengweng@ntu.edu.tw,謝謝。)

Sophomore Composition is a one-year foundation course that helps students advance their writing skills. For this semester (first semester), we will first concentrate on prewriting skills and strategies (brainstorming topics, finding the writer’s voice, outlining, etc.), before introducing the basics of writing an essay. Then, we will turn to developing skills in writing essays (narration, description, and expository). For the second semester, we will concentrate on writing argumentative essays, before we turn to writing a short research paper.
This course will be conducted in both English and Mandarin. |
課程目標 |
This course aims to help students develop confidence and skills in using English at university level. By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- write English in a clear and coherent manner
- use an appropriate range of vocabulary and sentences in their writing
- organise ideas and structure a compelling argument
- produce essays on academic and general interest topics
- demonstrate the ability to revise and edit written work |
課程要求 |
Due to the nature of this course, students are expected to attend all classes unless they have a reasonable excuse for their absence. Always remember to submit your compositions on time. Lateness will reflect negatively on final grading. |
